On 23rd December 1888, following a row with fellow artist Gauguin, Vincent Van Gogh cut off his ear.
He then went into a Brothel in Montpellier and presented the ear, wrapped in newspaper, to a prostitute named Rachael.
"Rachael. keep this object carefully."
"OK....er....thanks Vince" She said.
"Would you like a drink Rachael?" He continued.
"I've got one here."
"What?"
"I've got one here." She shouted.
Vincent nodded "Yeah, me too."
